Sample Repair: Heriz Patch
This antique heriz had previously been repaired, but it was not very well done. The patch that was put in to bolster worn spots was noticeable and ugly. Originally, this spot was likely completely worn and falling apart, so this type of repair doesn't only apply for previously patched rugs.
We removed the patch, laid in new foundation, and re-weaved the patch area (about 1.5 feet square). As you can see, the result is stunning -- the repaired area looks natural. This repair also restores the strength to the rug, preventing further damage.
